Notes at 10 Weeks

At only 10 weeks of age we have accomplished alot.Bear walks on a leash very well,he has been on a leash since he could walk, with this breed growing to be so large and powerful leash control is very important.I have often read they have the strength of a lion or 3 men.

Bear is 95% housetrained with the occasional mistake on the paper, only pee..never poop.
He comes when called, most of the time and loves the other dogs, cats and children.

Bear gets brushed daily,I have brushed him and the other pups daily from day 10.When babies I used a human baby brush sure not to irritate the tender skin, now I have to use the wire slicker brush, his double coat is thick and harsh underneath and soft as cotton on top.He looks like a lamb.

After much nutrition research I have decided to switch his food every month, and the other dogs as well.I have found to pick 4 top quality foods with different meat sources to switch between, the switching allows them to get different meat sources and the nutrition each bag has to offer.

I am using...Diamond Naturals lamb and Rice Formula,Natural Balance,Innova and Taste of the Wild..Salmon.Bear also gets 1 teaspoon of Wild Salmon oil in his food once a day.He is still on free choice, food is left for him 24/7,he governs himself really well.He has always been an extremley picky eater and doesnt eat as much as I had expected for a breed of this size.He has so far been on the thin side until now.Although I have to add... the Giant breeds do not need to be fat puppys due to joint issues when older.

I am amazed still at what a quite, content, gentle pup he is,his nurturing nature is coming to the surface,he watchs me when I sleep,I sometimes lay/sleep on the couch thats in his room he stays in,I will always wake up with him lying there watching me.

Its hard to get any pictures of bear alseep, the slightest noise even the opening of the camera he can go from a dead sleep, snoring even to wide awake and on is feet in a matter of seconds,I cannot catch him off guard. This still amazes me.

Bear sounds like he is doing so well! I love all of the pictures! Do a follow up post on what food he likes out of those 4...I have been thinking about switching my dog to Taste of the Wild.
